I have set up this website for anyone who has ever thought about becoming self sufficient in solar and wind power generation for there homes, did you now that building your own solar wind powered home energy system is not as difficult as you might think , and is not only easy, but also very cheep today. Solar cells do not store electricity. At night, a solar electric system needs to store its power, usually batteries, to draw upon instead of the solar cells.

Deep cycle battery are the type of battery that should be used in your home solar build system. These batteries are designed to be drawn down to low levels and recharged continuously. If your home is grid-connected you will have a power meter which measures your electrical energy usage, and will monitor both the electricity coming from the grid and to the grid from your solar power system. If you are producing more electricity then you are using, you will see you are actually turning this meter in reverse.
